Will County, Illinois is a diverse county located in the southwestern corner of the Chicago Metropolitan Area. The County is considered an Urban County for the purposes of the CDBG, HOME, and ESG programs. This means the County only serves the unincorporated areas of the county and any municipality that chooses to participate. Some municipalities that are only partly within Will County, like Aurora and Naperville, have opted to partner with other counties. A listing of participating municipalities and those who have opted out are listed in the table below. Please note that Joliet participates in the County's HOME program but develops its own plan for the use of CDBG funding.
